Alaina and I met courtesy of her Mom being at Kim and Tim’s reception last September. Alaina contacted me on a Monday in June and I noticed she was calling from the Kentucky area. I happened to be in East Tennessee at the time for a conference I was invited to speak at and we ended up meeting that Thursday in Knoxville, TN to discuss her wedding plans. That meeting was a GREAT start to planning for a wonderful couple such as Alaina and Clayton. They met through wrestling practice at River Valley High School when Alaina was helping during her training for the 2008 Olympic trials and Clayton was mutual friends with the wrestling coach.
Alaina and Clayton have a wonderful story where Clayton first was amazed at Alaina’s wrestling prowess and fell head over heels in love with her. Clayton was heading off to the military when it was decided that they wanted to get married before he left but they promised themselves that they would one day have the big wedding that they always wanted. I am proud of the fact that they chose me to help make those dreams come true.
Guests arrived to the Flat Rock Township hall with Alaina’s colors being displayed on the walls and UP Photo Booth being enjoyed by everyone. Alaina’s Grandmother decorated her wedding cake before everyone arrived with beautiful roses, creating the perfect accent piece. The Wedding Party was introduced to guests followed by a welcome by Alaina and Clayton.
After dinner, the dance floor was cleared and Alaina and Clayton’s Love Story was shared with guests who may not know how they came to be that day. “From This Moment On” by Shania Twain and Bryan White was their wedding song followed by Alaina dancing with her father to “Daddy’s Hands”. The dance floor kicked off next with an eclectic mix of music from Bob Segar to Black Eyed Peas and the dance floor didn’t stop until midnight as Alaina and Clayton’s last song choice of “Time After Time” by Quietdrive played. Two beautiful people….Thank you Alaina and Clay for having me be a part of your special day.
